Industry leaders are getting their Boots On For Safety to visit installations and rigs on the UKCS to share the Step Change vision and, more importantly, listen to workforce views and ideas about safety. They want to know how safety performance can be improved to ensure that everyone goes home safe and unhurt.

Good practice techniques & guidelines aimed to assist operators in their efforts to maintain & enhance asset integrity. This document, produced by the UKOOA & HSE sponsored integrity workgroup collects good practices for use throughout the whole lifecycle of an installation.

Whats in it for you? Well, the whole site is for you really. In the Resources section, you will see that ESR and SPAN networks have their own page but OIM/Snr Supervisors don't get a mention. That's because we felt that the entire site was relevant to you and your requirements.

October meeting
Our next Combined Network Meeting will take place on the 4th October 2006 at the AECC. The focus will be on how people have found the Boots on for Safety Initiative. How was it delivered, was it well received, what came out of it? The feedback will be used to shape the Step Change Agenda for 2007. We are looking for someone from every location.

MD Safety day
Industry leaders attending the first Industry Leadership Safety Day on 31st May 2006 committed themselves to re-energising the safety agenda to improve safety. The event, designed to replace the various contractor safety days held throughout the year, created considerable momentum to reinvigorate the safety agenda and put the industry back on track to realise the 2010 vision, to make the UK the safest oil and gas region in the world.

Lochter
Over 120 people attended another successful Step Change Combined Network Event at Lochter on 14th and 15th of June. Highlights included finding your "colours" and helping to design the Boots on for Safety Campaign this summer.

Current status
Step Change has set up various workgroups to support the three strategic areas - recognising hazards and reducing risk, personal ownership for safety and asset integrity. Each workgroup is chaired and supported by members of the Leadership Team and have a defined remit and deliverables.
